Using words and images, Yumiko Furukawa creates unique sculpture installations and writing, which serve as a bridge between literature and visual arts. Her work has been shown extensively and she has participated in various international art events: in 2006, “hoshi no oujisama” at Tinbox Contemporary Art Gallery (Bordeaux), France. in 2003, at Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennial (Nigita); and “Good Luck” exhibition at Tama City Cultural Foundation (Tokyo) in 2003.
